PRESS STATEMENT: UNILORIN STUDENT ALLEGEDLY BRUTALIZED BY KOROPE DRIVERS
The Student Union received the shocking news of a brutal
attack by the Mini bus drivers popularly known as "Korope" on the person
of Muhammad Olukade, a 500Level Law student in the University by the
Korope drivers.
Information reaching us indicates that there was a heated
altercation over the balance of Transport fares between the Olukade (the
passenger) and the driver. The altercation degenerate into a physical
combat with punches seeking habitation in Olukade's body. The
consequence is telling on him as depicted in the gory picture that has
since gone viral. 
We
wish to reiterate that the welfare of our members is our top priority.
Already, the leadership of the Student union is on top of the situation
as investigation has commenced on the matter. The Union will not relent
until all those involved in this unholy act are brought to book or we
take the book to them (if need be). We promise to give regular updates
on the matter.

We cannot but appreciate the sense of maturity displayed by
peaceful Unilorites, for not taking law into their hands by going on
rampage in retaliation. That was probitas doctrina in action!
In strong terms, we condemn this barbaric, breach of law
and injustice act. Again, we make bold to say that the culprit will
NEVER go unpunished.
An injury to ONE is injury to ALL.
